University of Phoenix (AZ, United States) notified the Oregon Department of Justice, the Texas Attorney General, the Iowa Attorney General, the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection, the California Attorney General and the Washington Attorney General of a data breach on 21 November 2025. It told the states about 3,489,274 Oregon residents; the total can be higher. Exposed: Social Security numbers, Financial account and card details, Dates of birth, Names and Contact information. The breach began on 13 August 2025, 100 days before it was reported.

  1. Look for University of Phoenix, Inc.’s own notice or letter: it should say what of yours was involved. Keep it.
  2. Call your bank on the number printed on your card (never one from a message), check recent payments and ask for a new card.
